We stayed at Lauderville Guest House in Edinburgh City where we spent three days and two nights when we we went to Scotland in 2008 for a golf vacation.

Lauderville Guest House was a Victorian town house with private parking as well as off-street parking located along Mayfield Road corner Relugas Road in Edinburgh City.

Lauderville Guest House was a Scottish Tourist Board (Visit Scotland) four-star guest house which offered a bed and breakfast accommodation.

We booked the room at Lauderville Guest House via Edinburgh Information Centre. We could have driven through Mayfield Road and Mayfield Gardens as there were a lot of guest houses along those two streets but we opted to go to the information center.

On our way to the guest house, having booked the room without even seeing it yet, we were hoping that the area would be nice. Well, it was actually nice and quiet. The owners were also nice and accommodating.

They had a computer with internet connection at the reception area. Guests were allowed to use the computer and surf the net for no additional cost.

The available room that we got was small but an en-suite room, with toilet and shower. The room was maybe small but it was comfortable enough for just two nights. The room and the toilet were very clean too.

The guest house was very near the city proper. It was just about five minutes drive from the city. It was located in the city but not in the city proper as Edinburgh was quite a big city.

The guest house was very accessible for commuting going to the city. There were several bus stops along Mayfield Road and the nearest bus stop from the guest house was just about 100 meters away.

During those days, the last trip of the bus from the city to Mayfield Road was more or less about 11:00 p.m. Commuting was more convenient as we did not have to worry where to park the car. It was not really easy finding a parking space in the city.
