During my stay in Pandan in the province of Antique we took a one-day side trip to Boracay island in the province of Aklan.
Boracay island has been considered as one of the best tropical beaches in the world. Boracay island is famous and a very popular tourist destination in the Philippines because of its powdery white sand beach and its azure blue and emerald green crystal clear salt water.
Boracay was just about 30-40 minutes ride by car from Pandan. It may take longer though when commuting by bus as the bus stops once in a while picking up other passengers.
We were brought to Caticlan in the town of Malay in Aklan. Then we took a pump boat ride from Caticlan jetty port going to the island of Boracay. Other than the boat fare itself, we also paid a terminal fee and an environmental fee.
Once we arrived at the Cagban port in Boracay island, we took a tricycle ride going to D’Mall Boracay. The tricycle fare was on a per person basis. Fare changes, so, kindly read the information about it at the port.
Once we arrived at D’Mall Boracay, we went straight to the White Beach. It was just a short walk from the main road along D’Mall to the White Sand Beach area. We had our pictures taken and then walked along the beach going to Jonah’s Fruit Shake and Snack Bar.
After having fruit shakes at Jonah’s Fruit Shake and Snack Bar Boracay, we just walked along the beach again and went to Shakey’s Pizza. We left Boracay after having pizza at Shakey’s Pizza Boracay.
